The following rules,
regulations and policies have been adopted by the Board of trustees so
all members can enjoy the many facilities, activities, and privileges
available at Port Clinton Yacht Club. |
|
Suggestions to improve any
of these rules, regulations and policies are welcome and should be made
in writing to the Commodore. |
|
I.
GENERAL REGULATIONS |
-
No member may, by their personal
conduct or that of their guests, disturb or interfere with the
rights of any other member to enjoy the facilities of this club.
This rule requires that responsible people make responsible
compromise.

Between 11 PM and 7 AM, excessive
noise, including loud talking, is not permitted.
-
No pets of any type are permitted on
the docks, grounds or moored boats at anytime for any reason.
-
Waste and refuse shall be placed in the
containers provided.
-
All vehicles will be parked in the
areas provided.
-
Overnight occupancy or camping is
prohibited except on boats moored at club docks.
-
No fireworks or firearms on the grounds
at anytime.
-
No swimming is permitted in the lagoon.
All who are not strong swimmers are requested to wear an approved
PFD when near the water.
-
Members and guests shall be responsible
for any loss or damage to their personal property on the club
premises.

The Flag Officers, Trustees and club
employees are authorized to enforce all rules and regulations
-
GUESTS
|
1. Guests shall be accompanied at all times by a member or person
entitled to club privileges as defined in the constitution. |
|
2. Guests shall abide by all rules, regulations and policies. |
|
3. Visiting Yachtsmen paying for overnight dockage are considered
guests for all purposes, except, they need not be accompanied by a
member or person entitled to club privileges and they do not pay a
guest fee. |
|
4. Members of recognized affiliated yacht clubs not paying for
overnight dockage shall be allowed privileges of the bar and lounge
only. |

II.
DOCK & BOAT REGULATIONS |

All dock-holders must comply with the
rules and regulations mailed with the annual dues statement and
listed again below. Violation of any of these rules and
regulations may result in the loss of dock privileges by action of
the Board of Trustees.

Total dockage must be paid by January
1st. Reassignment of all unpaid docks will be made February 1st
without further notice.

Dock assignments are made by, and
subject to change at the discretion of the Dockage Committee
and Board of Trustees in the best interest of the club. Any
member not holding dock space at PCYC, but requesting dockage, will
be placed on the waiting list in the order of their years of
continuous membership in PCYC. This preferential placement on
the dockage waiting list shall be a privilege which may be exercised
one time only.

1. Each boat must use the space assigned by the Dockage Committee. |
|
2. No one shall allow another boat owner to use his/her dock without
permission of the Dockage Committee or Dock master. |
|
3. Only one boat is permitted in each dockage space for overnight
mooring except inflatable and personal; watercraft not exceeding 10
feet in length. Also permission must be granted by adjacent
well mate |
|
4. Dinghies or small boats must be kept overnight on the racks
provided or on trailers in the dry storage area, excepting
inflatables described above. The owners of these craft are to
advise the dockage committee of their intentions and are responsible
for paying the rack or dry storage fee. These craft are not to
be stored anywhere else on the premises. |
|
5. Houseboats, regardless of hull design shall not be permitted. |
|
6. Dock charges for members will be at the current per foot rate and
will be based on the longer of the length of the dock or the length
of the boat, with the length of the boat to include bow pulpits and
swim platforms. |
D. Visiting yachtsmen who are members of a yacht club affiliated with
the I.L.Y.A. are welcome, if dockage is available.

1. The Dock master will
make all dock assignments for visiting yachtsmen. |
|
2. Overnight dockage
charges are at the rate of $1.50 per foot per night. |
|
3. Visiting yachtsmen
are limited to three (3) visits per season |
|
4. Dock-holders who
vacate their dockage space overnight are requested to notify the
Dock master so that the space may be used for visiting yachtsmen. |
|
5. Non-dock-holder
members who desire temporary overnight dockage shall be charged at
the rate of $.35 per foot per night. |
E. Boat owners will be responsible for the conduct of their family and
guests.

1. No unnecessary
lengthy running of engines is permitted at any time. |
|
2. Halyards on sailboats
must be tied at night so they do not create disturbing noise. |
|
3. Non-members shall not
remove a boat from the dock unless accompanied by a member or person
entitled to club privileges. |
F. Boat owners must maintain
their dockage space and adjacent area in a neat and clean manner
|
1. Dock boxes shall
conform to the approved design of the Dockage Committee. They
shall be rectangular in shape, approximately 50" by 27" by 33" high
or ski box in shape, approximately 75" long x 24" wide X 21" high,
white in color and kept in good clean condition. |

2. If additional risers
are needed they will be installed by the club at the owner's
expense. |
|
3. If bow line hangers
are requested, they will be installed by the club at the owner's
expense. |
|
4. Utilities (water,
power, and phone) shall be obtained by proper connection at the
shore. Direct connection to any service is not permitted.
|
|
5. Utility supply lines,
if run along docks, must be neat, completely visible and above the
normal water level. They must be removed by the date of the
fall Work Party or when the dock is vacated for the winter or they
will be removed by the club at the owner's expense. |
|
6. All docking gear and
accessories must be removed by the date of the Fall Work Party or

7. All boats must be
moored bow in. |
G. Absolutely no wake in the lagoon. Everyone is responsible for
damage caused by their wake.
H.
No refuse will be discharged in the water.
I.
Fueling of boats at club docks is prohibited.
J.
Docks, dock facilities and dock services shall not be used for
commercial purposes. |

III.
BAR AND CLUB HOUSE REGULATIONS |
-
The bar shall be open on such days and
between such hours as the Board of Trustees shall determine and so
advise the membership.
-
Alcohol consumed on the grounds must be
purchased from the bar. All drinks taken outside must be in
plastic. Members and guests are welcome to consume their own
alcohol on their own vessels.
-
No alcoholic beverages shall be served
to an intoxicated person. The bartenders shall have absolute
discretion in enforcing this rule.
-
No books, trophies, furnishings or
equipment owned by PCYC may be taken from club premises unless
approved by the Rear Commodore.
-
No bathing suits, tank tops, or bare
feet are permitted by anyone in the clubhouse. When entering
the clubhouse, please remove all hats and caps.

IV.
CHILDREN |
-
The club cannot be responsible for the
safety of your children. Please accompany small children
around the danger areas, such as docks, bathing beach, swimming pool
and playground.
-
Parents are responsible for the conduct
of their children. Please admonish them against destruction of
and damage to club and member's property.
-
Children 16 years of age or under must
vacate the clubhouse and premises by 10:00 PM, unless their parent
or guardian is present
-
Persons under the age of 21 years shall not be
permitted to remain in the Bar Room.
-
A room is provided for use by the children. It
is monitored by camera.

V.
RENTAL POLICY |
-
All use of club facilities for special parties,
including those subject to rentals, and the use of the kitchen, is
to be controlled by a rental agent appointed by the Commodore.
The rental agent is subject directly to the Board of Trustees.

All rental requests should be made in writing by the
member and within a reasonable time to allow approval of the Board
of Trustees.
-
No rental of bar or lounge. These facilities are
for the use of club members and guests only.
-
Rental rates may be obtained from the rental agent.
-
The use of bar services by persons, groups or
organizations shall be governed by State Liquor Regulations and PCYC
regulations.

PCYC SWIMMING POOL
RULES & POLICIES |

ELIGIBILITY FOR POOL PRIVILEGES ... MEMBERS
|
The swimming pool is
available to the following: |
- The member and spouse
- The member's sons and daughters as defined in Club Membership
- The member's grandchildren under age 18.
|
|
Prior to opening of the
pool each season, the member shall file names of all persons to be
accorded privileges as outlined above. |
|
|
B.
ELIGIBILITY FOR POOL PRIVILEGES ... GUESTS |
|
Members may
bring guests, however, a member may bring the same guest only 5
times per year. Children of members under 18 may
bring one guest during the hours of pool opening. Special
permission may be granted for more than one guest at a time upon
application to the Pool Chairman. The guest fee will be $3.00 FOR
EACH REGISTRATION. Season houseguest privileges can be obtained by
application to the Pool Chairman. The fee is $25.00 for the season
for each houseguest privilege requested. Registration shall
include the name and address of the guest and the name of their host
member. Guests must be accompanied into the pool area by the host
member to sign the register. |

C. AGE
LIMITS |
|
Lifeguards
are not babysitters! Children cannot be left at the pool
unattended unless they are of sufficient size, strength and swimming
skill to safely care for themselves, as determined by the lifeguards on
duty. Children under 10 years of age will not be allowed in the
pool area unless accompanied by parent or adult supervisor, or unless
they have passed tests given by the lifeguards or pool supervisor
proving their ability to swim well enough to handle themselves.
The supervising adult shall at all times be prepared to enter the pool
in the event the child under his or her supervision experiences any
difficulty in the water. |

D. LENGTH
OF SEASON |
|
The pool
will be officially open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, unless
otherwise notified. |
|
E. HOURS
OF POOL OPENING |
|
The pool
will be officially open from 12 Noon until 8:00 PM., at which hours
lifeguards will be on duty. The pool will be open for adults from
8:00 PM to 10:00 PM with prior arrangements made at the pool desk.
The pool will be closed to all persons from 10:00 PM until 11:00 AM.
From 11:00 AM to 12 noon, the pool will be open for adults only, with a
lifeguard on duty. No one, excepting adults 18 years and older, is
permitted in the pool area before 12 noon or after 8:00 PM.
Children are not permitted in the pool area anytime when there is no
authorized lifeguard on duty.
THERE WILL BE NO SWIMMING
WITHOUT A LIFEGUARD ON DUTY!!!!!
On the hour, all children 17 and under, will be required to leave the
pool for a 15 minute rest period. Adults may use the pool during
rest periods. |

F. SAFETY
RULES
|
1. Showers are
encouraged before entering the water. Soap and hot water
showers must be taken if requested by a lifeguard or pool
supervisor. |
|
2. Anyone with an open
cut, sore or abrasion, eye, ear or nose infection, any communicable
rashes or disease, will be barred from the use of the pool. |
|
3. No one in the pool
area alone. |
|
4. No running, pushing
or horseplay in the pool enclosure. |
|
5. Only one person on
diving boards at a time and NO diving from the sides of boards.
Diving area is for diving only, however, divers must look out for
swimmers. |
|
6. No diving from sides
in the shallow end of the pool. Diving is allowed in the deep
end of the pool only. |
|
7. No food allowed in
the pool or in the pool enclosure. Beverages permitted in
approved containers. |
|
8. No alcoholic
beverages are permitted in the pool enclosure. For club
sponsored events, permission to serve alcoholic beverages in the
pool enclosure may be requested from the Board of Trustees. |
|
9. Do not engage the
lifeguards in extended conversation. |
|
10. The club will not be
responsible for the loss of any personal items or belongings. |
|
|
G.
VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES |
|
The
lifeguards on duty are responsible for enforcing the rules. They
have the authority to eject from the pool and enclosure any person who
violates the pool rules, or behaves in a manner detrimental to the
safety and enjoyment of others. The Pool Chairman shall impose
penalties as directed by the Board of Trustees. |

PCYC TENNIS COURT RULES |
|
1. Tennis
shoes must be worn on the courts. |
|
2. Tennis
courts will be used ONLY FOR TENNIS (No skateboards, bicycles,
roller-skates or the like.) |
|
3. Each
guest is limited to five tennis sessions per year. No charge for
guests. |
|
4. Playing
time rules are as follows:
|
Playing time is limited
to one hour per player per day. |
|
Court times available
will be posted in the early AM the previous day. |
|
Players must register
for one hour per day, up to one day in advance. |
|
Walk-on time must be
registered before going on court. |
|
All players in each
group must register. |
|
If you are not on the
court by 10 minutes after your reserved time, you have forfeited
your time. |
|
Persons under 16 years
of age are not permitted advanced registration during June,
July or August, on weekdays from 4 PM to dark, or all day Saturdays
and Sundays. |
|
|
5. Proper
tennis etiquette will be followed at all times. |
|
6. This is a
Club Facility and the rules should be followed by the players on the
honor system. Playing members may enforce the rules. Any
unresolved differences should be reported to the Tennis Committee. |

7. Courts
will be locked each evening at dark. |
|
