Fall is in full swing around us. Work party cleaned and put away all our summer fun things and we prepare for the quiet of winter. Don’t stay away just because of the season, we still have many events throughout the month. Our annual meeting for the purpose of electing officers and adopting a budget for the upcoming year is on Thursday, November 4th. The Eickerts’ plan a large Octoberfest celebration including authentic food and German music on the 6th. Also planned is a OSU/Penn State potluck on the 13th and of course, the Commodores’ Ball on the 20th. We end the month with the com- missioning of Christmas decorations on the 27th. Try and be active and attend as many of these as possible.

Download Brick Order FormWe watch as our children grow up and we grow older but did you ever think about our club the same way. Many new projects must be planned and implementation completed to keep the club looking new and prosperous. Members and their families volunteering the time and equipment to complete such projects has always been how we are able to provide an inexpensive private club for all of us. Thanks to all who work behind the scenes and make it all happen. Think of these individuals as you nominate for the Oliver True Memorial Tro- phy for outstanding service to the club. The board will be reviewing the nominations this month and the trophy will be presented at our Recognition Dinner on January 5th.
The club finished the fiscal year with positive numbers. The en- cumbered funds have been replenished to give us that cushion of confidence for any surprises that could befall us. We always attempt to budget for every malady, but sometimes a seawall fails without us having anticipated the problem. Some little replacement projects become larger because of infrastructure issues. So it is always good fiscal responsibility to plan for the unseen.
We lost two wonderful ladies recently. Maureen (Mimi) Campbell and Norma Foreman both passed in mid October. The club will miss their contributions and attendance at numerous events. Condolences to their respective families.
Don’t forget the bar is closed on Thanksgiving Day. Be sure and come in on Saturday the 27th for OSU/Michigan at noon. See you around the club.
