First of all, I would like to thank the membership for their strong attendance at the general membership meeting that took place on July 7th. There were a total of 85 members including 11 past commodores in attendance. This is more than we generally get at our annual meeting in November! Again, thank you for your involvement in the process.

For those of you that didn’t attend, a long awaited project, rehabbing the north shore shower house was approved. There were several suggestions made to the overall plan regarding air conditioning and additional wainscoting. The planning committee and board are considering these requested changes. As we move forward on the project, the first item to be completed is correcting the drainage and installation of new flooring material. Other major changes, including a new roofing system, will be completed this fall when the facility is closed for the sea- son. PC Doug Young and board member Don Rod- wancy will serve as project managers.

One of the problems we have during these busy times, is the general cleanliness of the grounds. On numerous occasions over the 4th of July weekend, bags of trash and other debris were piled around trashcans that were overflowing, when others nearby had additional capacity. We have also noticed that the flowerpots at the club entrance have been used to discard bar cups and beer bottles. Our flower committee takes great pride in attending to these, so it disheartening for them to see this. We all have an ownership interest in our club. So, please take an ex- tra few minutes and do your part in keeping this a place we all can be proud of.

As the hot summer continues, there are plenty of events taking place. If summer means eating and enjoying your friends and family, then this is the place for you.

As I write this, the temperature is approaching the 100-degree mark. I think I’ll have to stop by the bar for a cool one. I invite everyone to do the same!
