When I started writing these entries nearly three years ago, PC Cindy Bolte and PC Dr. David George gave me some advice: don’t use this space to continually thank everyone for their efforts at the club. I think for the most part, I was able to live up to that.

Download Brick Order FormWith that being said, I think it’s time to deviate from their solid advice. I would like to offer a great big general thank you to everyone. From the many past commodores who gave me guidance, to the support from the flag officers, the board and our staff and to all of the members who offered assistance, thank you for making this year a special one for Nancy and me.
As long as I am on the subject of thank you’s, I would like to recognize the Commodores’ Ball Committee for putting on an absolutely spectacular event. John and Marty Folger, the general chairman, Mary Jo Rospert and Cathy Hablitzel, who were in charge of the decorations, and the rest of the committee did a fantastic job in transforming our club into a special place. If you weren’t able to attend, you missed a lot. I have already been told that paybacks are in the works!
Please be sure to attend the general membership meeting on December 3rd. The flag will be presenting the proposed operational change that was announced at the annual meeting and asking the membership for approval that evening.
I would again like to remind everyone that the nominations for the Oliver True Memorial Trophy need to be submitted in writing to the club secretary by December 19th.
Many things have been accomplished in the 6 years I have been involved in a club leadership position. I won’t deny that there haven’t been some bumps in the road, but on the whole, there were way more good experiences than difficult ones.
Commodore,
Geoff Bailey
